Whether or not it is accepted, I believe communication requires two consenting parties to happen.
Thereby it is understandable if one of which does not consent, the tool we call communication will not work.
The role, in which one is the giver and one is the receiver of the idea, can be configured as the objective dictates.
I talk about this here, because recently I got into a training, and one of the subject is communication, and it is mainly about receiving orders, of which I totally understand if we are only acting as a recipient. But when the means of communication, the barriers and how to overcome them, and the co-consenting nature of communication was not touched upon, I lose my interest. There are two sides of the coin, and if you only look and taught to look at one side, it's not the whole picture you're seeing, and incomplete information is a dangerous thing to have.
